Had a 12-hour day on a tower crane near downtown Austin last Friday
Wind picked up around 2 PM and we had to stop hoisting for nearly three hours (talk about a headache). Has anyone else dealt with sudden gust restrictions that kill your whole schedule?

Used to shrug off wind rules till an empty cage swung close to a crew below.

That "swung close to a crew below" part hit me. I used to be the same way until I saw a loose strap catch on a gust and whip a bucket right over someone's head. After that I started tying everything down like my life depended on it.
