I thought taglines on the load chart were a waste of time, then I clipped a parapet in Tacoma
Last Tuesday I was setting an HVAC unit on a roof at 14th and Commerce in Tacoma, and I was so locked in on my boom angle that I let the ball drift just enough to catch a parapet corner, which sent a chunk of brick down to the sidewalk. Nobody got hurt but the GC shut us down for 2 hours, and my ride home that night I finally read every word of the taglines I had been skimming past for years. Now I say them out loud before every pick, even the dumb ones, and the guy spotting for me started doing it too. Has anyone else changed their whole pre-lift routine after one close call, or am I just late to this?
