That safety brief I sat through Monday morning in Tulsa

The site super played a recording of a guy who dropped a steel beam from 200 feet. Three seconds of silence before the impact. Made me check my taglines twice before the first lift. Anyone else feel like those incident videos stick with you longer than the quarterly manuals?

Read an article once that said that silence before an impact is what really messes with your head.

Buddy of mine still can't walk past a crane without looking up first.

Does your buddy also get that thing where he just zones out staring at the sky for no reason? @charles_coleman I swear I still do that every time I see a crane on a jobsite, it's like my brain just freezes up. My old man was a steelworker back in the day and he drilled it into me to always look up when walking under anything heavy. Funny how those things stick with you long after you stop working around them.
