The difference in crane charts now versus when I started
Back in '05, we had these huge paper load charts in the cab, like a book you had to flip through. I remember a job in Cleveland where I spent 10 minutes just finding the right page for a 120-foot radius lift. Now my rig has a digital screen that shows the exact capacity in real time, with wind speed and angle. It's way faster and you can't misread a faded page. The change came from the new computer systems they started putting in around 2010. Does anyone else miss the feel of those old paper charts, or is it just me being sentimental?

Worried about tech making us lazy? The old charts forced you to really know your stuff.

Ever worry the new tech makes it too easy to stop double-checking your own math?

Remember my GPS sending me into a lake because I forgot how to read a map.
