Unpopular opinion: site supervisors should stay off the radio during picks

Job in Mobile last Tuesday. Supervisor kept talking over the signal man. Told me to swing left when the load wasn't clear. I stopped. Waited. Crew looked at me like I was crazy. We lost 20 minutes. But nobody got hurt. Who else deals with radio clutter on site?

Yeah you ever just key the mic and say "hold up, give me one second boss" in the middle of their talking? Did that once when my super kept chattering during a blind pick. Told him straight up I need quiet to get the signal man's calls or we're gonna drop something. He shut up for that lift and the crew saw why it matters. Sometimes you gotta put your foot down right there in the moment.

Radio clutter kills focus just when you need it most, quiet hands work faster.

@the_sean earned respect because he owned the pause, not the noise.
