Update: our yard went from 6 cranes to 14 cranes in 8 months and the parking lot tells the story
Eight months ago our lot in Houston had 6 rigs and you could pull a trailer through it without thinking. Now there are 14, and I spent 20 minutes this morning just threading my pickup between a 60 ton and two boom trucks to reach the gate. The cause is our shop took the big refinery turnaround contract out in Baytown, so they keep bringing in rented units from other branches. The wild part is the pad itself never got graded wider, so we are parking on gravel that keeps sinking where the outrigger floats sit. Anyone else dealing with a yard that outgrew its own lot, and did your company actually pave it or just keep stacking iron?
