Wind speed stickers on the load chart saved my ass in Fort Worth

I always ignored the wind rating on the chart until I lifted a 40 foot wall panel in 25 mph gusts last month and the tagline guy said it was swinging like a pendulum. Now I check that sticker every morning even if it looks calm, cause that one time convinced me. Anyone else trust the chart over their gut now or still wing it?

Took that same lesson from a 30 foot truss pick a couple summers back, the chart said I was fine but the panel started acting like a kite the second it cleared the truck. Now I write the morning wind number on the back of my hand, so when the crew says it feels calm I already know what the chart says before I even think about it. Your gut lies when you're in a hurry, that sticker doesn't.
