I almost bought a house in Tempe last month using a 'credit repair' company that wanted $5,000 up front.

They said they could get my score to 700 in 30 days, but my real estate agent in Phoenix told me to run after she saw their contract was full of fees for things you can do yourself for free.

Your agent said the contract was full of fees for free stuff, but isn't that just paying for convenience? Sometimes your time is worth more than the money.

Paying for convenience" is what they call it when they charge you for breathing the office air.

Buddy of mine paid a similar company $3k and all they did was dispute stuff on his credit report that he could've done with a 15 minute phone call lol. He ended up getting sued by the company when he tried to cancel and his score dropped 40 points.
