Just got a 40 point jump on my credit score by asking for a goodwill adjustment on a late payment from 2022
I had a single 30 day late payment on my car loan from two years ago that was killing my score. I wrote a letter to the bank explaining I had a medical emergency that month and asked them to remove it as a one time courtesy. Has anyone else had luck getting late payments wiped off with a goodwill letter or am I just lucky?

My buddy did this with a credit card company and they actually wiped his late fee too.
