Just realized my credit score jumped 42 points after paying off one collections account
I had a $1,200 medical bill from 2019 that I just cleared last month, and my FICO went from 589 to 631. Turns out that one old debt was dragging me down more than the newer stuff I was focusing on. Has anyone else seen a big swing like that from removing just one negative item?

My 589 to 631 jump happened too when I paid off a $1,200 medical bill from 2019. It made me wonder if I should tackle my other old debts one at a time instead of trying to do everything at once.

Ha, my score jumped 30 points just from remembering to pay my phone bill on time once.

That 30 point jump must have felt good. It's wild how something that simple can make such a difference to the number. Have you noticed any other quick wins helping your score lately?
