My landlord's 'credit repair' flyer got me nowhere, but the free HUD counselor in Dallas fixed my report in 6 weeks
The flyer wanted $99 a month to dispute stuff and my score barely moved in 3 months, while the HUD-approved counselor did it for free and got 4 wrong late payments off my report by week 6. That one difference (free, actual nonprofit vs. monthly fee) is the whole ballgame. Anyone else get burned by a paid credit fixer before finding the free route?
