Noticed a pattern at that credit repair seminar in Dallas

I went to a free credit repair housing workshop last Saturday at a library off Mockingbird Lane. They spent 45 minutes on disputing old addresses but never once mentioned how rental history reports even work. Then they pitched a $300 package at the end. Felt backwards to me. Has anyone else been to these things and actually got something useful from them?

Went in thinking these seminars were just a way to sell overpriced junk. But you're right, that setup is totally backwards. They hook you with free food and hope you don't notice they never actually explain the basics. The $300 pitch after 45 minutes of address disputes feels like a trap, not a fix. Changed my mind because you pointed out something I missed, they're not there to teach, they're there to sell. Now I'd tell anyone to skip the seminar and just read the FTC guides online for free.
