Our credit union said my 650 score was "fine" but then denied the loan 2 days later
I was saving up for a first home and got pre-approved at a local credit union in Akron but then they pulled my credit again at closing and denied me over a $37 medical bill from 3 years ago that I didn't even know about, has anyone else had a lender change their mind at the last second over something small?

Kinda sounds like you're making this bigger than it is. A $37 bill that wasn't even yours is more of a glitch than a real problem. Just pay it off or dispute it and move on.

Wait, did you actually see the news about how companies just bank on people paying small bogus charges because it's too much hassle to fight? @brookeellis, I totally get where you're coming from, but I read a report that said these "glitches" happen way more often than people think, and it adds up to millions for them. It's not just about the 37 bucks, it's the principle of it. I'd rather spend the 10 minutes disputing it than let them get away with it. Honestly, letting it slide feels like giving them permission to keep doing it to other people.
