Paid $180 for a 'rapid rescore' service and got zero results

I was trying to get my score up to qualify for a mortgage in Phoenix and a credit repair company promised a rapid rescore in 10 days. They charged me $180 upfront, said they'd dispute two old collections, but after 3 weeks nothing changed on my report. I called them and they kept saying they were waiting on the bureaus, but I could've done the same disputes myself for free. Spent more on phone calls chasing them than the actual service helped. Has anyone else tried these paid rescore services and actually seen movement, or did you get burned too?
