Rant: I was fighting my credit score when the real problem was my rental history
For almost 2 years I kept paying credit repair companies in Austin to bump my score, but every landlord still turned me down. Then one property manager showed me my tenant screening report and there was an old eviction from a place I never lived at, that was the thing holding me back. Has anyone else found out their rental history was the bigger blocker than their actual credit number?

So did you ever actually dispute that eviction with the rental reporting company, or did you just stop paying the credit repair folks? Because I feel like those tenant screening reports are a whole separate beast from your standard credit file. It took me finding out the hard way that my old landlord reported a late payment to something called a tenant database that I'd never even heard of before. Did that property manager give you any paperwork showing what agency had the bad info?
