Spent $90 on a credit repair software bundle that was useless
I figured I'd try one of those all-in-one credit repair programs since my score was stuck around 580 from some old medical collections. Paid $90 for a 3 month access deal. Turned out it was just a bunch of generic dispute letter templates I could've found for free online. Did maybe 10 disputes through it, got zero deletions. Called customer support twice, they just read from a script. I'm out the money and my score hasn't budged. Anybody had better luck with a paid service or is this all just a scam?

Is it really that serious though? I mean 90 bucks for some PDF templates you coulda pulled off a forum in 10 minutes? Seems like you already knew what you were getting into. The whole "credit repair" industry is just selling you the same stuff the government gives out for free on their website.

and honestly the whole industry is just taking advantage of people who're already struggling. i did something similar a couple years back, paid like $60 for a "credit repair kit" and it was the same crap - letter templates and a bunch of youtube links. what actually moved my score was just calling the collection agencies directly and settling for less, then waiting. it took months but my score went up like 80 points. those paid services just bank on people wanting a quick fix instead of putting in the legwork themselves lol.
