That free credit workshop at the public library actually helped
I went to one of those free credit workshops at the downtown library last Tuesday. The guy running it showed us how to write goodwill letters to creditors. I sent one to Capital One about a late payment from 2023 and they actually deleted it off my report. You all tried that or is it just luck?

@the_miles goodwill letters are legit, not hype.

Capital One gave me a goodwill adjustment on a 30 day late from 2022 and it jumped my score like 18 points. I sent them a handwritten note explaining I was in the hospital and they removed it no questions asked. The key is making it personal and not sending some generic template, I think that matters more than people realize.

Used to think those workshops were just a hype thing people push on social media, not gonna lie. But reading about your goodwill letter actually working kinda makes me want to check one out now, that's a pretty solid win with Capital One. Maybe there's more to those library seminars than I gave them credit for.
