TIL my 30-day credit report dispute window is actually 45 days
I had a collection account from an old AT&T bill in Austin that just wouldn't budge. I filed a dispute thinking it would be done in a month, but it took 47 days to get resolved. Has anyone else had a dispute drag out way past the supposed timeline?

Oh man, 47 days sounds about right actually! I had a similar thing with a medical bill from a clinic in Dallas, thought the dispute would wrap up in 30 days but it stretched to almost two months. The credit bureaus just drag their feet (probably hoping you give up, honestly). If you check the fine print on the FCRA, the 30 day thing is more like a suggestion, they can extend it if the dispute is "complex" or whatever excuse they throw at you.

Agree with you @val_shah, the 47 day thing is totally real. I had a bank error on my report that I thought would be a quick fix and it dragged on for 54 days. One of the bureaus kept sending me letters saying they needed more time and then another 15 days. Feels like they just pile on delays until you get tired and stop checking. Have you tried calling them directly or just stuck with the online dispute?
