Hot take: the Heaven's Gate "away team" language gets misquoted way more than people think
Started checking original transcripts from the 1997 tapes against what documentaries paraphrase and found the group almost never used "away team" the way podcasts claim, that phrasing came mostly from outside commentators. It matters because it turns a real belief system into a Star Trek joke and hides how the theology actually worked. Anyone else keep a running list of doc claims that fall apart once you read the source?
