Everyone in this sub hypes the Netflix and HBO docs as the entry point. She ran a support group there and her take was blunt, the shows cut for drama and skip the parts that matter, the money trails and the exact control tactics. So 2 years ago I started pulling PACER filings and trial transcripts for cases I thought I knew cold. The difference floored me. One leader I thought was just a nutjob had a whole shell LLC structure spelled out in exhibits, none of which made the doc. You lose the music and the dramatic reenactments, sure. But you get what actually got charged and what got left out. Curious if other folks here read transcripts or depositions before or after the shows, and which case do you think the doc got the most off base?
