That documentary "Cult Murders" on Netflix is a total mess

I watched that new documentary "Cult Murders" last night about the group in Oregon, and they left out the whole financial angle. The leader stole $2 million from members before anyone died, and the film just glosses over it like it's not important. Why do these docs always focus on the violent ending instead of how they trap people with money first? Did anyone else catch that huge gap?

Wow wait, they seriously left out that he stole two million bucks?

Oh man, that's insane. A buddy of mine actually had a contractor do the same kind of thing, not with millions but still a ton of money. He hired a guy to remodel his kitchen, paid half up front like you're supposed to. Dude just disappeared with the cash, like ten grand. Found out later he had a record for scamming people in three other states. It's wild how these guys get away with it for so long, just bouncing from one job to the next until someone finally catches them. Makes you wonder how many other people got played before this one got busted.
