Honestly I used to think the actors carried the whole movie but you're totally right lol. The editing room really does decide everything that ends up on screen.

But see, here's the thing - I kind of lean the other way on this. @ericcraig has a point about editing shaping things, but there is a reason those court transcripts exist. Netlix's job was to make a gripping story, not a balanced documentary. The editing room can spin anything, but sworn testimony under oath is a lot harder to twist. Those transcripts are raw, boring, and full of gotcha moments that the filmmakers conveniently left out.
