I finally realized password managers aren't just for tech people
My neighbor Carol called me last week after her email got hacked for the third time this year because she kept using "Fluffy123" for everything. I showed her how to set up Bitwarden on her phone and now she actually remembers her passwords without writing them on sticky notes. Has anyone else had luck convincing older relatives to switch or do you just let them keep using the same password for 15 years?

I actually read somewhere that something like 80% of data breaches come from weak or reused passwords, so Carol is definitely not alone with that Fluffy123 situation. It's wild how many people just pick one password and use it for everything, even after getting hacked multiple times. My neighbor Dave tried the sticky note method for years until his dog ate one with his bank login on it, that finally convinced him to try a manager. I think the key is showing them how much time it saves, not just the security stuff, because nobody wants to feel like they're being lectured about passwords.

Got my aunt on Bitwarden last month after she got locked out of her Facebook account for the tenth time and she's actually loving it now keeps telling me how much easier it is to log into stuff.
