My kid's school in Dayton sent a 'secure' link via text last month that was clearly a phishing test.

I clicked it just to see, and it went to a fake login page asking for my email password. How are they still sending these without any basic training first?

Wait, they just sent a test link with zero warning? Did the school ever follow up to tell parents it was a drill, or did they just let everyone who clicked it fail? That seems like a terrible way to teach security.

Seriously, they just sent a fake login page with no heads up? That's a wild way to run a test. @charles720 is right, letting people fail without telling them it's a drill teaches nothing. They should at least send an email first explaining what they're doing. Feels like they care more about catching people than actually helping them learn.

Our IT guy did that once, changed my whole view.
