My password manager got hacked anyway - here is what happened

I used LastPass for 4 years because everyone said it was secure. Then their 2022 breach exposed my vault and I lost $300 in crypto from a saved wallet key. Has anyone else gone back to plain paper backups after trusting a service?

Paper backups? Man, I tried that route after my own scare and ended up losing the sticky note I wrote my master password on. At least with LastPass I could reset my account, but with paper you're just one coffee spill away from being locked out of everything forever. Your $300 crypto loss hurts though - that's real money down the drain because some hackers decided to ruin everyone's Tuesday. Honestly the whole situation has me wondering if I should just use a notebook I keep in a fire safe, or maybe just memorize everything like a caveman.

Man, paper backups work if you laminate them and use a fire safe.
