Shoutout to the free VirusTotal upload that caught a fake invoice scam

I was about to open a PDF from a 'client' last Friday, but ran it through VirusTotal on a hunch and found 3 known malware signatures, has anyone else caught something sketchy that way?

My buddy Dave almost got hit the same way last month. He got an email that looked like a shipping label from FedEx, real logo and everything. He was in a hurry so he almost just clicked it, but something felt off about the sender address, like one weird letter in the domain. He threw the file into VirusTotal and it flagged two trojans right away. Turns out his whole company got that same email and two other people actually opened it, total mess with IT and everything. Now he runs every single attachment through something before he touches it.
