Two-factor auth bricked my own account for 3 days in Austin
Swapped phones last Tuesday and figured I'd just move my authenticator app over. Nope. The backup codes were in my password manager which was locked behind the same 2FA I couldn't get into. Took me three days and about 14 support chats with my email provider before they finally let me verify with my old phone number. The kicker is I still had the old phone sitting in a drawer, just forgot to check the SIM slot. Has anyone else hit this loop where your security is so good even you can't get in?

That SIM slot detail is rough, been there. My old Pixel sat in a drawer for two weeks before I remembered the physical SIM still worked for texts. Password managers behind 2FA is a trap I've fallen into too, now I keep one printed code taped inside a book. Your setup was working exactly as designed, which is kind of the problem.
