I laughed at him and spent them on skee ball. Saw a guy selling a set of 5 on a forum for $200, so I dug through my junk drawer and found 3 taped inside an old brochure from the mall, which closed in 2021. What do you all do with leftover tokens from dead arcades?
Keeping a few as a weird little time capsule seems smarter than chasing the resale hype. Those tokens only mean something to people who actually fed them into machines, so a random buyer on a forum is just speculating. Has anyone checked if the mall's demolition crew or a local history group wants them? A dead arcade's story is worth more to a museum or a "remember when" Facebook page than to some guy flipping sets for $200. Plus the ones taped in that brochure are basically a mini artifact already, so maybe frame them with the brochure instead of selling.
