Went into the dead Sears at Great Lakes Mall just to kill time, left actually liking the place
I used to think people who drove out to empty malls were just chasing old memories, but last Saturday a janitor named Ray in the old Sears wing at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio talked to me for 20 minutes about the holiday train display his dad ran there in 1994. He pointed to a spot near the dark escalator and said "that's where the little engine came out, right there." Anyone else had a mall worker who knew way more than the building deserved?
