Got a $200 espresso machine for $60 using an old coupon trick
I was browsing a discount site last month and spotted a Breville Bambino listed for $120, marked down from $200. I remembered an old tip about stacking store credit with clearance items, so I applied a $60 credit I'd earned from a previous purchase. It actually went through and I paid $60 out of pocket. Has anyone else had luck combining store credits with clearance deals like this?

Did the store actually honor it or did you just get lucky with a glitchy system? I've seen these stacking tricks work occasionally but more often than not they get caught by automated rules. Wouldn't count on it being a repeatable thing.

Doesn't it feel like these systems either catch everything or nothing with no in-between?

Man these store systems are wild. It's like they're either absolutely flawless at catching everything or completely asleep at the wheel. I've noticed the same thing with grocery store loyalty cards. Sometimes you can stack a digital coupon with a store sale and a manufacturer coupon all at once and it works perfectly, other times the register just freezes up and you need a manager to come fix it. Feels like these companies spend a ton on the fancy stuff but leave the basic price matching rules full of holes. That $60 Bambino is a nice score though, just don't plan on it working again next week.
