My buddy called me out on buying "limited edition" drops and it actually stuck
Was bragging to my friend Dave last week about scoring this $80 hoodie from some hype brand drop. He just looked at me and said "bro you paid 80 bucks to be a walking ad for a company that can't even spell exclusive right." Honestly hit different because I looked in my closet and realized I have like 6 of those things I barely wear. Now I'm thinking about all those flash sale emails that say "only 50 left" and how it's probably just a marketing trick. Anyone else ever get roasted into actually thinking about their purchases?

Seventy nine bucks for a hoodie that's basically a billboard? Wow. My buddy wouldn't even let me hear the end of it when I dropped sixty on a pair of sneakers with a tiny logo on the heel. Those "only 50 left" pop ups are pure nonsense, I actually timed one once and it stayed on screen for three days. It's scary how easy it is to get pulled into that rush of thinking you need something just because it might vanish.

Did you actually buy it or did your brain wake up in time?

@simonk98 makes a great point about those fake countdowns.
