Remember when flash sales actually meant something?

I snagged a $20 blender during a 15-minute flash sale back in 2018. Thing still runs like a beast today. Now every "limited time offer" feels like it lasts a week and the product is junk. Anyone else notice how fake the urgency has gotten?

Yeah, more like the same trick but now with worse products.

Did we just fall for the same trick twice?

Is it bad that I'm already trying to figure out how to fall for it a third time? @the_alex is probably right, the products are getting worse but my memory is getting worse too so I keep convincing myself this time will be different. Last time I ended up with a gadget that promised to fold laundry and it barely managed to wrinkle my socks differently. My brain just conveniently forgets the disappointment until the next shiny thing comes along. I swear I'm like a goldfish with a credit card and a youtube subscription. What's the trick called when you keep buying the same useless stuff over and over again because you think you've finally outsmarted the system?
