Appreciation post: Ditching Google Analytics for Plausible was a huge win for me
I run a small blog about local hiking trails and got tired of GA slowing down my site. Switched to Plausible last month and my page load time dropped by 1.2 seconds. The data is way simpler too, I actually understand bounce rates now instead of guessing. Has anyone else noticed a big difference after swapping analytics tools?

Wait, you mean there's analytics tools that don't turn your site into a sluggish mess? Honestly, I'm still rocking Google Analytics on my little blog and it loads so slow I could go make a sandwich while waiting for the dashboard to pop up. Tbh I've been thinking about switching too, I just got scared of setting something new up cause I'm not great with tech stuff. Ngl your post is making me feel like a dummy for putting up with the lag for so long though.

Honestly, do you really think a dashboard loading slow is a huge deal? I mean, you're just checking numbers once a day, right? Tbh, I'd rather put up with a little lag than mess with my site's code and risk breaking something.

Hey @charlies37, dont feel bad at all. I was running Google Analytics on my own site for like three years and just figured the lag was normal. Switched to Fathom about six months ago and the difference is night and day - dashboard loads in under a second, no joke. The setup was actually dead simple too, just pasting a single line of code into the header area of my site.
