Question about that poll saying 70% of people prefer working from home
I saw that viral chart from FlexJobs claiming 70% of remote workers would quit if forced back. But I dug into their methodology and found they only surveyed people who already work remotely. That's like asking people at a pizza place if they like pizza. I cross checked with a Pew Research poll that used a random sample and it showed closer to 48%. Anyone else notice how these surveys always frame the question to get the result they want?

Yeah that 70% number is about as reliable as a survey from a candy store saying 90% of people prefer candy for dinner.

That "90% of people prefer candy for dinner" line is actually perfect, I heard a statistician on a podcast last week talking about how surveys that ask people about their own preferences usually get wildly skewed numbers because nobody wants to admit they actually eat healthy. People will straight up lie to make themselves look good or fit in with whatever they think the survey wants. So yeah, that 70% claim probably has about as much weight as a light snack.
