Question about those county job posting salary ranges that always look way off
I was looking at a janitorial supervisor listing for Multnomah County last week, showed $52k to $88k. That spread is huge, the top is like 70% more than the bottom. I've cleaned offices for 10 years and even the best crew leads I know never sniff the high end. Is this just a legal formality or do some counties actually hire near the max? Anyone here work in HR or government that can explain how they pick the starting number?

Totally agree, county jobs always lowball you at the bottom.
