I finally caught that viral claim about microwaving phone chargers in action
My buddy Dave sent me a Facebook video last Tuesday claiming you can revive a dead phone charger by microwaving it for 10 seconds. I told him that's a fire waiting to happen, but he swore it worked for his cousin in Ohio. So I tried it with an old burnt-out charger I had sitting in a drawer - wrapped it in a wet paper towel like the video said. The microwave sparked and smoked after 3 seconds, and now my kitchen smells like burnt plastic. Has anyone else seen this nonsense and actually found the source?
