That video about airport luggage tags being faked hit different after a convo with a Delta baggage handler
I was flying out of Atlanta last week and got stuck sitting next to a guy who works the ramp for Delta. He was telling me how people buy those "priority" or "first class" tags off eBay and slap them on their bags. He said they catch maybe 10% of them, the rest just go through like normal. I always thought those tags were just for looks honestly... but now I'm wondering how many people actually do this and get away with it. Has anyone here actually tried this or seen it happen?

That "harmless status flex" thing is funny because it's the same logic people use for all kinds of stuff now. Like the people who buy fake designer bags or fake watches just for the look, then act surprised when someone calls them out. It's all just performing for strangers you'll never see again. I swear half of modern life is just people putting on a show for people who don't actually care.

Those tags are just for looks" - exactly, so why get worked up over a little harmless status flex?

So if they only catch 10%, what's the actual risk then? Seems like most people are getting away with it, which probably just encourages more people to try. Do the baggage handlers even care enough to report it when they spot one?
