That viral 'moon landing tape found in a storage unit' turned out to be a hoax but I wasted 3 hours on it
My cousin sent me a link last Thursday to a video claiming someone found original NASA footage in a dusty storage locker in Tulsa. The guy looked so sincere holding up that reel and talking about how the government tried to hide it. I spent a full evening digging into the story, even checking the Facebook profile of the guy in the video. Turned out the whole thing was a CGI prank from a YouTube channel that does fake treasure finds. The giveaway was the lighting on the reel - it matched the guy's face perfectly but was wrong for the room. Anyone else ever fall for one of these elaborate hoaxes and realize it later?
