That week in Memphis when the humidity killed my laptop
I used to swear by those cooling pad claims until my Inspiron shut down mid-spreadsheet during a 95 degree day and I finally checked the internal temp myself. Has anyone else measured actual air temp under their laptop vs what the pad says it's doing?

That line about "checking the internal temp myself" really hits because it seems like everything now just slaps a claim on a box and calls it good. Makes you wonder if half the "features" we pay for are just marketing fluff.

Slaps a claim on a box and calls it good" pretty much sums up the whole appliance industry now.

Wait, is that really the case though? I've seen a few YouTubers test those ovens and the temp sensors were actually pretty accurate, just not always placed where you'd expect. Like one brand put the probe near the top heating element instead of in the middle where your food sits. So you might be paying for a real feature, but the execution is off. Does anyone know if the higher end models have better sensor placement?
