TIL about the 'Pineapple Test' for checking if honey is real or fake honey

I was scrolling and saw this viral claim that if you drop a chunk of pineapple into honey and it floats, it's real honey, but if it sinks it's fake. So I tried it with my local store brand from Publix in Orlando and a fancy jar I got from a farmers market. The store brand sank right away and the farmers market one floated. I'm not sure if that test actually means anything though. Has anyone looked into whether the pineapple test is legit or just another internet myth?

Hey, did you feel like that test made you doubt that store brand honey? Sorry you got a weird result, stuff like that can be really frustrating when you just want to know what you're actually buying.

Did you ever try warming the honey to see if that changes how it behaves in the test?

@jordan_hill yeah honestly now I'm just sitting here eating pineapple chunks and honey like some kind of confused bear. My store brand sank so fast I half expected it to drill a hole through my countertop. Meanwhile the farmers market stuff just floats there all smug like it's better than me. I guess I'll just trust my taste buds over a floating fruit trick from the internet. Pineapple test or not I'm still gonna douse my biscuits with whatever's cheapest.
