Tried that viral 'shaving cream for car seats' hack on my 2017 Honda Civic
I saw a TikTok showing how shaving cream lifts stains from fabric seats, so I tried it on a coffee spill that's been there for like 6 months. It actually got the stain out in about 5 minutes with just a scrub brush and a damp towel. Anyone else get lucky with a random internet hack or did I just waste my time on a one-off win?

Whoa, hold up, that's a good trick but you gotta be careful with shaving cream on car seats. Most of those foams have alcohol and other chemicals that can actually bleach or discolor the fabric over time, especially on darker interior colors. I'd say test a tiny hidden spot first before going all in on the whole seat. Still, glad it worked for that old coffee stain, that stuff can be a real pain to get out.

Oh man, I had a buddy who tried this on his light gray cloth seats and it worked great for the stain but then he noticed a weird faded patch after it dried. He used some bargain brand shaving cream (not Barbasol or anything) and I guess it had extra chemicals in it. The seat looked splotchy for months until he finally broke down and rented one of those carpet cleaners from the grocery store. Just a heads up that even if it cleans the stain, the foam might mess with the dye in the fabric, you know?

Huh, never thought about the dye issue, but that makes total sense now.
