Found a trick to spot fake 5-star reviews on Amazon that actually worked

I noticed a bunch of products with hundreds of glowing reviews but the ones with 'verified purchase' tags were way lower rated. Has anyone else tried sorting by most recent and comparing the two?

My cousin bought a mattress based on those perfect reviews and it felt like sleeping on a bag of wet gravel. Sorting by recent reviews saved him from making the same mistake twice.

Honestly that's the real move right there. Sorting by recent shows you what people actually think after a month or two, not just the first week honeymoon phase. When you're hunting for a mattress or anything with a break-in period, the 4-star reviews with actual complaints are way more useful than the 5-star ones that just say "amazing." Ngl I filter out anything older than six months now on big purchases like that.
