My buddy the mechanic swore by seafoam for cleaning engines, turns out he was right

I had a 2012 Ford work van with 180k miles that was idling rough and stalling at stoplights. My buddy who runs a shop in Phoenix told me to dump a can of Seafoam in the gas tank and another in the oil. I was skeptical because it sounds like snake oil, but I followed his directions exactly. After about 50 miles of driving the idle smoothed out and it hasn't stalled since. Has anyone else had luck with this stuff or did I just get lucky?

Seafoam saved my old Civic too, that stuff actually works.

Seafoam is fine but people act like it's a magic cure-all for a neglected engine. A good flush and some fresh oil probably did most of the heavy lifting.

Ha, yeah my buddy dumped a can in his old beater and it actually quieted down a nasty lifter tick. Thing ran way smoother for the next year till he finally sold it.
