My cousin shared a 'doctors don't want you to know' post and the actual study it came from tested 12 people
My cousin sent me one of those viral health articles on Facebook yesterday with the caption 'share before they delete this.' I actually clicked through because I was bored, and the whole thing was built on one study from 2016. So I looked up the study itself. Twelve people. The headline claimed it worked for 'most adults' and the sample size was 12 people, all from one clinic, and the article never linked the study, just said 'researchers found.' I commented the link and the sample size and she just said 'well it worked for my friend.' That's the whole problem with these viral health pieces, they take one tiny study, slap a scary or exciting headline on it, and the source is buried or missing on purpose. I've started doing this every time someone shares one, and about 8 out of 10 times the study doesn't say what the headline says. Has anyone found a fast way to check these without falling down a 2 hour rabbit hole every time?
