My wife's cousin posted that a city in Ohio put fluoride in the water to make people docile, so I actually called the water plant
She shared this wild post claiming Cincinnati added fluoride to calm everyone down and it got like 4,000 shares. I figured it was garbage so I called the water plant in Columbus and talked to a guy named Dale for 20 minutes. He sent me their yearly water report and the fluoride level was 0.7 parts per million, which is the normal amount dentists have pushed since the 1950s. Turns out the whole docile thing came from a 2016 blog post that twisted one sentence from a real study about rats. Has anyone else actually called a utility or agency to check a claim like this, and did they answer you straight or brush you off?
