Saw a viral post about some new DOT rule going into effect next week, but I checked the actual federal register date and that rule was from 3 years ago with no updates. Has anyone else caught recycled news passing as current events?

Guilty as charged. I've definitely fallen for a "breaking news" alert that turned out to be from three years ago. My brain just goes "oh cool, something happened" and clicks before reading the date. It's like my news diet is just leftovers reheated and served with a fancy new headline. At least the reruns don't cost me anything except my dignity.
