That viral '5 minute homemade cleaner' article left a worse film than my old store spray

Saw a trending piece last week claiming vinegar and dish soap in a spray bottle outcleans everything, so I tried it on my kitchen counters in Austin. It left this sticky haze that actually trapped dust, and the article never mentioned rinsing or mixing ratios, just one vague photo. Has anyone else tested a viral cleaning hack and gotten worse results than the cheap stuff it was supposed to replace?
