Hot take: that "scientists found a lost city in the Amazon" clip was a 2010 documentary rerun
My brother sent me a TikTok of a guy claiming a drone just spotted a lost city under the trees in Brazil, and it had 2 million likes. I ran the image through a reverse search and it pulled up a BBC doc from 2010 with the same exact shot from the same angle. How are you all checking these before you hit share, or do you just trust the caption?
Does it really matter if the clip is old though? The city in that doc was a real find, so the video is just recycling something true with a fake "just spotted" label. People getting mad about the source while skipping past the part where it was actually discovered feels like missing the point.
