That viral oatmeal water video got fact checked into dust last month
Watched a clip with 2 million likes claim soaking oats in water overnight triples their iron, then saw a dietitian on YouTube point out the actual study tested rats at 40 times the dose, so now I check who funded the study before I change my breakfast.
Rats at 40 times the dose. So basically if I eat 40 bowls of oatmeal and also happen to be a rat, I might get a little more iron. Sign me up.
Funny how the study part never makes it into the video. Just the part where you soak oats and suddenly become a health god.
Checking who paid for the study is smart though. Most of these clips are just someone's meal plan dressed up as science.
Two million likes on a rat study. We are cooked.
