Warning: my uncle swore that 87 octane was ruining his truck, so I looked up what octane actually measures
I always assumed higher octane meant more power, but the rating is just how hard the fuel is to ignite, and a viral clip of a mechanic in Dallas claiming 87 was causing his engine knock had me digging into my own owner's manual where it literally says 87 is fine, so is there any real case for premium in a plain gas truck or is that whole claim just nonsense?
